What is a seed library?A seed library is a place to share seeds, promote seed diversity, and grow both gardens and community through shared knowledge and resources. Patrons are encouraged to take seeds, share their experience, and when able, donate seeds collected from plants. Just as diverse communities enrich our lives, seed and plant diversity is vital to our well being and future. A seed library provides a place to share our stories, resources, and knowledge.*

How does it work?
BorrowTake an entire pack or take just enough seeds for a row in your garden. If you only want a small portion, then open the pack and put what you will plant in a small envelope. Staple the planting instructions to your packet.
|
GrowBeginner gardeners will have the best success with EASY seeds. INTERMEDIATE seeds require more space and varying needs. DIFFICULT seeds need to be started indoors, then replanted outdoors. Follow packet directions.
|
ReturnSave information, not just the seed. Make note of common and Latin names; dates of planting, plant maturity, and seed harvest. Only choose seeds from ideal plants. Healthy, vigorous plants are more likely to produce heath, vigorous seeds.
